Intelligent Environments (IE) refer to physical spaces in which information and computing technology is woven and used to achieve specific goals for the user, the environment or both. IEs have the ultimate objective of enriching user experience and better managing and increasing user awareness of that environment.
As in previous editions of the Intelligent Environments conference, workshops will complement the main conferenceprogram. Papers accepted in any of the workshops will be published open access in the Book Series on Ambient Intelligence and Smart Environments (IOS Press).
The IE2025 workshops will be held on the first two days, June 23 and 24, 2025. Depending on the number of participants, half-day, full-day, and even two-day workshops are possible.
Important dates
- Workshop proposals due: 12 September 2024*
- Workshop acceptance decision: 20 September 2024
- Call for papers for the workshops should be sent out in November / December 2024
- Workshops paper submission due: 7 March 2025
- Workshops paper decision: 4 April 2025
- Workshops camera ready deadline: 11 April 2025
- Workshop dates: 23 and 24 June 2025
*The proposals will be listed as received and approved; the 12th is the final cut-off.
Workshop proposal submission guidelines
Workshop proposals should contain the following elements:
- Workshop title and acronym
- Workshop abstract (3-5 sentences)
- Workshop overview and topics (if inclusion of topic is not obvious, please provide its relevance for IE2025 conference)
- Past editions (webpage link)
- Names, affiliations and contact information (e.g. link to bios) of Chairs/ Program Committee/ Technical Committee
- Preliminary program as bullet list, including keynote speech (encouraged but not mandatory) and any interactive activities planned (e.g., discussions, hands-on activities)
To submit the workshop proposal for IE2024, please send an email (subject line: “IE2025 Workshop Proposal”) with an attached PDF including the above information to the general workshop chairs silvia.faquiri@hs-rm.de and aquinor@ucol.mx.
Support to workshop organizers
Workshop organizers will be provided with up to three free conference registrations depending on the number of participants, which can be used for workshop chairs and/or keynote speakers. IE2025 will manage the publication of workshop proceedings.
Responsibilities of workshop organizers
Workshop organizers have the following responsibilities:
- Maintaining their workshop website
- Planning and coordinating the workshop program
- Arranging a potential keynote speaker
- Calling for papers
- Reviewing and accepting papers
- Ensuring that the papers adhere to the prescribed format
A minimum of four registered papers are required, otherwise the workshop will be cancelled.
